We are the only center in NYC that films every procedure and gives a copy to each patient!
Why can we do this? Because we stopped cutting LASIK flaps, so our complication rate in the OR is now zero!
Please watch some of the videos of LASEK and the newest epi-LASEK procedures, so you understand how they’re 10x safer than LASIK. Also watch some short clips of patients sitting up in our OR after their procedure and reading signs across the street right away!
We are treating the highest extreme prescriptions in NYC, because they cannot safely get LASIK (the flap uses up tissue). So some of these patients are crying with happiness after their LASEK by Dr. Chynn, as they flew in from abroad to get our LASEK!
Dr. Chynn had “low definition” LASIK over a decade ago, so now has some night glare and halos afterwards.
The night glare is caused by his now having a “two-piece”cornea “sandwich” so the light scattered across the flap interface.
He also has halos around lights, because as his pupil dilates, the higher prescription necessary was not put on the cornea periphery.
With the non-cutting SafeSight procedure, you avoid night glare because you do not wind up with a “corneal sandwich.”
And with our Hi-Def option, the higher prescription necessary is actually put on the corneal periphery–eliminating halos.
With Hi-Def, your prescription is corrected 25x more accurately than in Low-Def (accurate to +/- 0.01 D, not +/- 0.25, like in contacts).
Better yet, you get 50 different prescriptions per eye, not one averaged prescription all over (like -2.25 all over your cornea).
Basically, if you own a flat-screen TV, you really should get Hi-Def, so your eyes are set for the next generation television sets.
Read below for more technical details about how Hi-Def works, from the maker of our VISX S4 IR laser, the #1 laser in the USA.
This laser has treated more eyes in the US than all other laser brands–combined. Don’t accept a #2 laser for your eyes!
